Macroeconmic forces sometimes overwhelm the entire situation of all companies - even the good ones. We are in one of those time periods now. Equities are toast.

Re: Q2 Results: August 1

Dude, what you're saying is that we're asleep at the wheel here; that the outside world is infinitely more complicated than we appear, or care, to comprehend. Yet your solution to it all is one-dimensional: We must awake and follow the lead - of an anonymous "observer". Complicate things that are simple and simplify complex issues.
"All about Nortel" means just that to the masses here. And the majority rules. You say so yourself.

Re: Q2 Results: August 1

Once you start a discussion about stock price of Nortel you open the discussion up to how and why equities like Nortel get manipulated. Equities move up and down based on macro as well as microeconomic forces. Nortel is no different. The masses can talk about Nortel until they are blue in the face but there are larger forces influencing both Nortel, the industry and the overall global economy.

Re: Q2 Results: August 1

Mark Owens created this blog to (ostensibly) discuss Nortel, and Nortel only. The masses promptly arrived and now talk Nortel - while adhering to his rules, overall. (That makes him a corporate shill, eh, monitoring our IPs, and stuff...)

You essentially come in off the street, ignore the decorum, grab the mic and tell the masses you are a spokesman for the entire world, know the true path to enlightenment, that we need to think "globally" by simply believing everything you say and following suit - lest we expose ourselves as mindless corporate drones. You did all the critical thinking for us so we don't have to.

The masses have chosen to talk about Nortel at "All About Nortel".

Re: Q2 Results: August 1

I''ve heard your Truths uttered time and again since I started working full-time in Europe, from 1981 to 1992, then here in the US since, but so far nothing has changed anywhere.

It has to crash before things will change. This is a blog that I write because I enjoy it and hope it makes a positive and constructive contribution to the Nortel, telecom and investment communities. I expect everyone who decides to join in the conversation to be respectful and provide some insight. This is not a free for all bulletin board. If you want that kind of forum, I politely suggest that you go somewhere else.

If I choose to delete or modify comments, that is my decision, although I do not feel it is my position to micro-moderate. While I appreciate your enthusiasm for participating in this blog and hope you continue to do so, I suggest you take my guidance under consideration. You say that you have spoken directly with Nortel Engineers associated with the BSNL project - so disclose what they had to say and who they are.
